I am happy to participate again in this lovely idea of a neighborhood Art Walk - friends, neighbors and strangers coming together to share their joy in the creative process. I have worked with batik for many years, a rather messy and labor-intensive process that utilizes hot wax and dyes on fabric, done in my upstairs bedroom-turned-studio. In contrast, and for want of something less messy and clean, I also enjoy creating pen/ink and watercolors, working on-site in places close to home or on our travels, working from my own photographs. That in itself, the photos that turn into photo cards, is something I very much enjoy. I am very much drawn to nature and common spaces that surround us, lately the beauty of trees in their various forms and phases. I am admittedly and apologetically undisciplined when it comes to social media, websites, and the "business" of selling art. I am content to show and sell my work at these annual Art Walks where a sense of community exists, and I have the opportunity to speak directly with those who visit. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you, and although I do not have a website, I can be reached through my email, mffior@charter.net.
